- Sun’s chip gurus theorize about obliterating IBM and Intel - Now I’d love to see this happen. This looks like some pretty impressive technology if Sun can pull it off.
- Sun Microsystems Joins Porting Effort For OpenOffice.org for Mac - Woohooo!!! Soon I’ll be able to run the most recent version of OpenOffice on my Mac and have it actually look like a Mac app. (NeoOffice exists, but isn’t as up to date).
- Google Whitepaper on Disk Failures - Sounds like a good reason to implement ZFS to me.
- ZFS for NetBSD - Soon only Linux won’t have ZFS built in, and instead they’ll have to rely on the slow Fuse-ZFS. Aggg, shame.
- Compiz on OpenSolaris (for Nvidia users) - Finally, OpenSolaris is catching up with Linux in the desktop usability stakes - You can now get all the fancy features of Compiz on OpenSolaris (x86 w/ Nvidia) - (<a href=”http://blogs.sun.com/erwann/entry/compiz_0_5_0_packages”>pkgs here</a>)
