This was really helpful, thanks! One (really minor nit), you should add an instruction to uncomment one of the htaccess authentication methods, that tripped me up for a minute.

I really appreciated this tutorial. I had been wanting to be my own OpenID provider for some time now, and this tutorial allowed me to do it in less than 30 minutes. Thank you!

(I wanted to point out one typo that caused me some confusion. To generate the hash on Windows, there shouldn’t be a space between the [-d] and the [“username:phpMyID:password”]. The README file included with phpMyID to figure this out, but otherwise everything went very smoothly!)
