I’ve just updated the 1.0.x and 1.1.x branches of phpSmug to resolve 3 issues I discovered with the caching used by phpSmug (Tickets #11, #12 and #13)

I’ve just updated to jEdit to jEdit 4.3-pre12 and wow, what an improvement in performance.

I’ve updated the example.php file in the phpSmug 1.0.x to branch to take into account the “Heavy” argument. Whilst this isn’t strictly needed in the example.php, it does cause confusion as it’s the first parameter, and the example was only providing the nickname parameter.

Thanks to Rob Nugen for the heads up on this. Ticket #9 is now resolved.

It seems there is a packaging bug in the current ZFS Beta Seed available from the ADC, but thanks to Shawn Ferry’s jiggery-pokery steps, I’ve got it installed. One slight diff, though… I had to comment out the line using <!– and –>.

I was going to provide details for compiling GAIM 2 / Pidgin on Solaris 10, as I did for GAIM 1.3.0 - 1.5 in my article entitled “HOWTO: Compile GAIM on Solaris 10“, but this no longer necessary as GAIM is upgraded to Pidgin on Solaris 10 when patch 119548-11 (SPARC) or 119549-11 (x86) is applied.

I’ve made a small update to phpSmug by changing the way images_uploadFromURL() works. It now uses the API directly and ensures SmugMug effectively does all the hard work. It’s a lot more efficient than before. Grab 1.0.2 from the project page.

I’ve finally updated my ZFS cheatsheet to reflect all the functionality available in Nevada build 71 (snv_71). If you spot any omissions or errors, let me know.

QuickTip: You can find full details on configuring the MySQL that ships with Solaris 10 and Nevada in the /etc/sfw/mysql/README.solaris.mysql file (part of the SUNWmysqlr pkg).

Watch this space at 13:00 Pacific Time (20:00 GMT) for news of Sun’s FY07 results. This will be the first place the results will be published BEFORE anywhere else and will be the first for Sun, and maybe even the world. Hopefully Sun will be hitting that profit it’s been promising for so long.

This is a good example of an unprofessional rant and this is a good example of a professional response. You can clearly tell which one is the CEO of a multi-national corporation.
